How Sidecast Works

Pick a video from the homepage, or paste any YouTube link.
Hit Start Sidecast. Comments and fact cards load before the video even opens.
Watch and scroll along. The feed glides in sync with playback, at a comfortable reading pace.
Jump around with the Fact Timeline next to "Streamed Chat" - click any fact to seek straight to that moment.
Scroll away anytime to read at your own pace - it pauses the sync. Hit "Jump back" whenever you want to catch back up.
Dig deeper on any fact. Every fact card links out to a real external source - tap "source" to read the full story.
Good to know
Time-synced fact cards - tied to a real moment in the video - currently work reliably for our two Synced picks, Hot Ones and Veritasium. YouTube blocks transcript access from our server's network for other videos, so those still get fully synced comments, just general fact cards instead of moment-anchored ones. We're working on lifting this for every video.
Also good to know
The comment feed is mechanically filtered before it ever reaches you - no AI judging what's "good." Bare timestamps with nothing else attached, near-duplicate copy-paste comments, and promotional/spam links all get dropped automatically, so what's left is real commentary.
